PumpSkins is an exploration of pop culture through tattoos and Halloween motifs.

How can a sculpture hold a real tattoo and become art? Through an occultist ritual, I transferred SKIN onto these pumpkins to experiment with one of the latest pop culture trends: tattoos.

Yet, tattoos transcend mere trends; they hold deep meanings that connect us to something greater. The ritual of getting a tattoo is not easy, it requires endurance, patience, and pain. These symbols tattooed into our skin become talismans, narrating individual or collective stories. We adorn ourselves with images that carry varied significances, transforming our bodies into living galleries.

Pumpkins themselves are vessels of vast significance, embodying ancient meanings that we reinterpret in modernity with a fresh vision. This allows us to infuse them with a new power of perception. Similarly, our view of tattoos evolves: they are not a trend, and we collect them as art.
